About this work

Landscape sketch showing a mountain brook flowing over a stony riverbed and into a pool from a low waterfall in the middle distance at center, likely in Vermont. The moss-covered trunk of a dead tree extends diagonally through the scene, bridging the two banks. Yellow and orange autumn leaves speckle the land and water throughout.
