About this work

Landscape and botanical sketch showing a view of trees in the dense woods of Vermont. A center, the lower trunks of two light birch trees and one dark beech tree serve as the composition's focus. Rendered in great detail, the tree trunks extend out of frame along the upper margin. Red and green undergrowth covers the ground below, while numerous smaller trees form a screen of greenery behind the primary trees. Patches of clouds and blue sky are sporadically visible through the vegetation.
