About this work
On ground of polished white, predominantly architectural pattern with gothic details, in brown, beiges, brilliant blues, green, touches of red. Fanciful architectural enframement, topped by two vases of flowers, flanked by two statues on pedestals under steep "gothic" roofs, between which country scene with four peasant figures visible. Above, enframed in leafy architectural ornament, wooden bridge over tree-lined stream. At edge of paper, vertical banding of strapwork with fruit garland, through which vine with red flowers is entwined.
