About this work

Rectangular with rounded corners, featuring relief ornament of woman's head in profile holding a cigarette to her lips, smoke swirling around her face, her hair pulled up loosely with flower, long tendrils fall around her shoulders, all framed by elastic, ribbon-like decoration with whiplash curves. Reverse undecorated except for monogram (H?). Lid hinged on side. Striker in recessed groove on bottom.
