About this work

Unfinished patchwork quilt top with a design of hexagons arranged as flowers on a white ground. Some of the fabrics are English block prints from the 1780s and 1790s; others are 19th century roller-printed fabrics. The hexagonal shapes were formed over paper patterns, still present.
