About this work
Simple pattern of two abstract motifs, one large, one small, repeated in alteration horizontally and vertically; large amount of negative space between each motif; larger motif is vertically symmetrical and consists of stylized leaves growing out of a base composed of four flowers set in a square surrounded by two Greek- or Chinese-style frets; smaller motif composed of forms reminiscent of arrows or leaves arranged like a snowflake; pattern is embossed; color scheme of gold on white.
