About this work

Aesthetic pattern with two alternating columns of motifs; one column a vertically-repeating symmetrical Neo-Renaissance motif with stylized roses, acanthus leaves, honeysuckles, and strapwork; pale salmon on pink-grey ground with hatched shading in green, light red, and pink-grey that gives illusionistic texture of brocade; second column a ribbon-like pattern with motif of naturalistically-depicted red flowers in irregular bunches; green foliage, salmon ground with white lace-like edging.
