About this work

Ovoid body with tall neck, flaring mouth and curved handle leading to flat shoulder; raised circular foot. Central scene in red-brown on white ground of a youth at a tumulus, wearing petasos (traveling hat), boots and chlamys (traveling cloak), and holding two lances; Greek key pattern above scene, black band below; shoulder decorated with tongues and rays.
