About this work
In the lower register, a musician, a dancer, and other revelers happily celebrate the wedding. The prefect, dressed in orange, sits on the left of the wedding scene while Mahrusa herself sits on the far right. Mahrusa, who has been rejected by the king, continues to wonder why he refused to marry her.
