About this work
Tall beakers were used for a variety of beverages, but especially wine and beer. They were often passed around during communal drinking on celebratory occasions. This pole glass ( stangenglas ), characterized by its tall cylindrical structure and pedestal foot, is adorned with prunts, glass blobs that afford a firm grip in the absence of a handle.
