About this work
Intaglio print of the Ponte de l'Arzere in the district of Santa Marta in Venice, Italy. Viewed from a high angle, a man poles a boat while others on the shore prepare to embark in another craft. Washing hangs from the bridge and people cross over in both directions. Above the bridge the city recedes into the distance, with many details of people in the street and along the shoreline.
