About this work
Bei dem Gemälde handelt es sich um das Gegenstück zur "Landschaftskomposition mit Beatushöhle" (Inv. 649). Beide Landschaften entstanden wahrscheinlich während Wolfs Berner Aufenthalt 1774–1777. Sie gelangten mit derselben Provenienz ins Kunstmuseum.
