About this work
The Basel painter Hans Lendorff traveled to Italy for the first time in 1893, where he initially spent a year and a half in Anticoli Corrado, a town northeast of Rome. In the following years, he regularly lived in Italy during the summer months, especially in Anticoli, which he depicts in this painting.
