About this work
Judith Thurneysen née Iselin (1752–1832) was the youngest daughter of the hosiery manufacturer Andreas Iselin and his wife Judith Iselin née Schardt. She had been married to Prof. med. Johann Jakob Thurneysen since 1785. Carl Germann painted her portrait one year after her marriage, in the same year as the portrait of her mother (our Inv. 888).
