About this work
Wiemken's sketches of houses with open interiors can be found in Hanhart 1979, p. 198, Nos. 557–559. Two drawings are kept in the Kupferstichkabinett of the Kunstmuseum Basel, which may have been created in connection with this picture: "Traum des Gehenkten II" (1930, Inv.-No. 1943.95) and "Die Frau des Gehenkten" (1931, Inv.-No. 1971.38).
