About this work
Wiemken was encouraged by his artist friend Walter Bodmer to create non-figurative works. Between 1936 and 1937, "Konstruktionen" were created with predominantly organic lines, exclusively in the colors black, white, and blue. For Wiemken, the primary importance lay in the execution of a movement sequence; the linear compositional method had a lasting effect on the works created subsequently.
