About this work

According to a letter to his brother Emanuel in Basel, dated September 5, 1875, Sandreuter was in Contra at the entrance to the Verzasca Valley in Ticino in September 1875 (cf. Hans Sandreuter: Written legacy. Part I: Memories. Part II: Letters and diaries, in: Yearbook of the Basel Art Association 1915, ed. Mrs. Hans Sandreuter and Wilh.
