About this work
Menn copied during his second stay in Paris (1838–43) in the Louvre, among other things, Titian's "Le concert champêtre," formerly attributed to Giorgione, (Louvre Inv. 71), cf. Brüschweiler 1960, p. 49. Another copy by Menn of the same painting is located in the Musée d'art et d'histoire in Geneva (Inv. 1912–0448).
