About this work
The picture is a copy after Berchem's signed and dated 1656 painting "De Ossendrift" in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam (Inv. No. SK-A-30). The Amsterdam painting, in a slightly larger format (38 x 62.5 cm), shows another ox on the right edge.
