About this work
An identical image composition of the peacock strutting through a poultry yard, albeit in a considerably larger format (153 x 206.8 cm), was in the Wolff collection in Paris in 1941 (auctioned on December 10, 1993 as lot 26 at Christie's, London; cf. RKD image database, Artwork No. 201174).
