About this work
The sitter Annette Österlind (1882–1953 or 1954) is the daughter of the Swedish painter Allan Österlind (1855–1938), whom Louise Breslau had met in Paris. Breslau portrayed Annette Österlind, later wife of Edouard Sarradin, several times (see Krüger 1988, nos. 474 and 621). The portrait was first exhibited in 1904 at the Paris gallery Georges Petit and in the spring of 1905 at the Salon of the Paris Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Later that same year, the Swiss K...
