About this work
Paul Burckhardt traveled to India in the winter of 1913/14 on the occasion of a visit to his sister living there. He describes the short excursion to Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, in "From India. Travel Sketches by a Painter" (Basel: Verein für Verbreitung guter Schriften, Issue 155, October 1927, pp. 46ff).
