About this work
The original intended location of the elongated panel, which today hangs as a supraporte in the hallway leading to the kitchen in the Haus zum Kirschgarten, is unclear. Also, the place depicted, a city gate through which the festive procession of the coopers, followed by Bacchus enthroned on a wine cart, is led, could not be convincingly identified. One would most likely think of the area of the Riehen Gate.
