About this work
For further artistic training, Augusto Giacometti went to Paris to Eugène Grasset, one of the masters of Art Nouveau, the French expression of Jugendstil. Already during his training as a drawing teacher in Zurich, his publication "La plante et ses applications ornementales" (Paris, 1896) fascinated him, whose idea of ornamentally transforming forms from nature echoes in "Maimorgen".
