About this work
Copy after the most famous self-portrait by Peter Paul Rubens, which he painted in 1623 for Charles, Prince of Wales, later Charles I, King of Great Britain, and which is now in the Royal Collections. The portrait depicts the painter at the age of 35. The Corpus Rubenianum counts more than ten copies of the painting.
