About this work
Partial copy after a wall painting from the early 14th century from the church of S. Pietro in San Gimignano. The wall painting was discovered in 1919/20. Albert Müller brought the image back from a study trip he undertook in 1920 with the painter Niklaus Stöcklin to Italy.
