About this work
The life-size plaster model bears self-portrait-like features (Martin Schwander, in: Biographical Lexicon of Swiss Art, Vol. 2, p. 930). An initial plaster "Fallen One," 1922 (location unknown), is smaller (length: 140 cm) and shows the body falling backward to the ground (Dorothea Christ in: Exhibition Catalogue Basel 1986, p. 9).
