About this work
Paul Burckhardt traveled to India in the winter of 1913/14 on the occasion of a visit to his sister living there. He described his impressions in "From India. Travel Sketches of a Painter" (Basel: Verein für Verbreitung guter Schriften, No. 155, October 1927).
