About this work
Anne Varichon fasst im Werkkatalog thematische Werkgruppen zusammen und ordnet dieses Werk dem Oberthema der "femme au gant" (Frau mit Handschuh) zu, ein Motiv, das in Gleizes' Œuvre erstmals 1920 auftaucht und das ihn bis Anfang der 1950er Jahre beschäftigt (vgl. Varichon 1998, Bd. 1, S. 304, Abb. S. 304–307). Varichon meint weiter, dass man diese Werke auch der motivischen Gruppe der "femme à l' éventail" (Frau mit Fächer; Varichon S. 304, Kat. Nr. 310 ff., Abb. S.
