About this work
The Master of 1445 owes his name to the dated Basel panel and a wall painting on the tomb of Bishop Otto III. of Hachberg in Constance Cathedral from the same year. The wing panels with scenes from the legend of St. Anthony in the Konstanzer Rosgartenmuseum (Inv. 1962/7-8) probably come from the same workshop but do not directly belong to the Basel panel, as previously assumed.
