19th century · Possibly beni-dyed light red (orange) silk, figured satin weave, embroidered and couched in silvered and gilt metallic thread (wound around a white silk fiber core). Needlework in satin stitch in shades of green, dark blue, off-white, and light brown; areas of padding; yuzen dyeing, and stenciled imitation tie-dyeing throughout.
