Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — In the Space Station Processing Facility, the Rack Insertion Unit lifts another laboratory rack to the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module Leonardo, in the background. The MPLM is the first of three such pressurized modules that will serve as the International Space Station’s “moving vans,” carrying laboratory racks filled with equipment, experiments and supplies to and from the International Space Station aboard the Space Shuttle.
