KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- At Launch Pad 39B, STS-104 Mission Specialist Michael L. Gernhardt pauses during payload walkdown in Atlantis’s payload bay. He and other crew members are taking part in Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities, which include emergency exit training from the orbiter, opportunities to inspect their mission payloads in the orbiter’s payload bay and simulated countdown exercises.
