About this work

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- This view from above Space Shuttle Atlantis reduces the workers below to appearing like ants. Seen below the Shuttle is the opening over the exhaust hole containing flame detectors. On either side of the Atlantis, in front of the wings, are two tail service masts. The masts support the fluid, gas and electrical requirements of the orbiter’s liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen aft T-0 umbilicals. Launch on mission STS-104 is scheduled for 5:04 a.m. July 12.
