Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — -- The nose fairing encapsulating the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite-I (TDRS-I) nears the top of the launch tower at Pad 36-A, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The fairing will be attached to the Lockheed Martin Atlas IIA rocket for launch. The second in a new series of telemetry satellites, TDRS-I replenishes the existing on-orbit fleet of six spacecraft.
