Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — On Launch Pad 39A, STS-111 Mission Specialists Franklin Chang-Diaz and Philippe Perrin practice making a hasty exit from the 195-foot level to the slidewire baskets in the event of an emergency. Perrin is with the French Space Agency. They and the rest of the STS-111 crew and Expedition 5 crew are taking part in Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities, which include emergency egress training and a simulated launch countdown.
