About this work

Astronaut James F. Reilly, STS-104 mission specialist, participates in space history as he joins fellow astronaut and mission specialist Michael L. Gernhardt (out of frame) in utilizing the new Quest Airlock for the first ever space walk to egress from the International Space Station (ISS). The major objective of the mission was to install and activate the airlock, which completed the second phase of construction on the ISS.
