Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Inside the mobile service tower on Launch Pad 17-A, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the Swift spacecraft (on top) is ready for fairing encapsulation. On the bottom is the second stage of the Boeing Delta II launch vehicle. The fairing is being installed around the payload for protection during launch and ascent. A Boeing Delta II rocket is the launch vehicle for the Swift spacecraft and its Gamma-Ray Burst Mission.
