Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — In the Remote Manipulator System lab in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), Kennedy workers move the shipping container aside to gain access to part of the new Orbiter Boom Sensor System (OBSS). Once the entire structure has arrived, the OBSS will be assembled and undergo final checkout and testing in the lab prior to being transferred to the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF) for installation on Space Shuttle Discovery.
