About this work

Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — In the Space Station Processing Facility, technicians attach the Control Moment Gyroscope (CMG) and Small Adapter Plate Assembly to the Lightweight Multi-Purpose Experiment Support Structure Carrier. The CMG will launch aboard Space Shuttle Discovery on Return to Flight mission, STS-114 to the Space Station. The CMGs provide altitude control for the outpost keeping it properly oriented toward the Sun without the use of rocket fuel.
