Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — During Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, STS-114 Pilot James Kelly is ready to practice driving an M-113, an armored personnel carrier that is used for speedy departure from the launch pad in an emergency. The TCDT is held at KSC prior to each Space Shuttle flight. It provides the crew of each mission an opportunity to participate in simulated countdown activities.
