Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — At Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., a worker helps guide the second half of the fairing as it is moved into place around the GOES-N spacecraft. It will be attached to the first half already in place. The fairing protects the spacecraft during launch. Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) are sponsored by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
