About this work
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – In the Orbiter Processing Facility’s bay 3, the orbiter boom sensor system is moved into position by a crane over space shuttle Discovery for installation in its payload bay to support mission STS-128. The 50-foot-long boom attaches to the shuttle arm and provides equipment to inspect the shuttle's heat shield while in space.
