CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – A crawler-transporter delivers space shuttle Discovery over the flame trench next to the fixed service structure on Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida before sunrise. Discovery's first motion on its 3.4-mile trip from the Vehicle Assembly Building was at 11:58 p.m. EST March 2. The shuttle was secured on the pad at 6:48 a.m. March 3. Rollout is a significant milestone in launch processing activities.
