CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – The rotating service structure, at left, is retracted on Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to receive space shuttle Discovery. Discovery's first motion on its 3.4-mile trip from the Vehicle Assembly Building was at 11:58 p.m. EST March 2. The shuttle was secured on the pad at 6:48 a.m. March 3. Rollout is a significant milestone in launch processing activities.
