CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - At Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Atlantis, secured to its external fuel tank and solid rocket boosters, is ready for launch following retraction of the pad's rotating service structure. Retraction of the structure, which provides weather protection and access to the shuttle, began at 5:29 p.m. EDT and was complete by 6:08 p.m. RSS 'rollback' is a significant milestone in the launch countdown.
