P-21747 C Range: 2,200,000 miles This image shows a region of the Jovian atmosphere from approximately 25° N to the equatorial region. The north temperate jet, at approximately 23° N, where the wind speed is about 150 meters per second, is seen as a dark brown line from the left-hand edge to the right-hand corner of the picture. The wispy clouds of the north equatorial belt appear as shades of brown.
