View just before sunrise over the Arctic Ocean during IceBridge's transit flight from Fairbanks to Thule on Mar. 26, 2013. IceBridge has flown the same path across the Arctic Basin in each Arctic campaign, allowing researchers to measure differences in ice thickness the entire way and build a reliable year-to-year record of change. NASA's Operation IceBridge is an airborne science mission to study Earth's polar ice.
