KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- In the bright morning sun, Space Shuttle Discovery towers above the landscape, and cars below, as it sits on Launch Pad 39A. At left can be seen the environmental chamber known as the “white room” that provides access inside the orbiter when it is in place. The white room is at the end of the Orbiter Access Arm, moved away from the Space Shuttle in this photograph. Discovery is scheduled to launch Oct. 5 at 9:30 p.m. EDT on mission STS-92.
