Inside the bunker at Launch Pad 39B, a trainer explains the use of an air pack to some of the STS-97 crew. At left is Commander Brent Jett; then Pilot Mike Bloomfield and Mission Specialists Carlos Noriega and Marc Garneau (far right). The training is part of Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities, which also include a simulated launch countdown and opportunities for the crew to inspect the mission payloads in the orbiter’s payload bay.
